Greg & Trish Farrell settling in
Greg and Trish are settling into their home and ministry. In his first month we called on Greg (our new Food Service Director) to prepage a banquet, serve a "catered" breakfast in a different location on the campus, provide meals for a mid-sized weekend retreat, and provide short-order meals and hot snacks for our New Year's Eve Bash, as well as do deep cleaning and reorganization of our kitchen. Even before her official starting date Trish (our new Director of Programming) lended a hand with the program for our New Year's Eve Bash.
  • Praise God for providing Lakeside with this talented couple
  • Pray for Greg and Trish as they deal with all the details of moving
  • Pray for the Farrells as they become oriented to their Lakeside responsibilities
Gearing up for summer registrations

We have done or initial summer camp mailings, updated our registration systems, and begun other promotional efforts.
  • Please pray that campers and parents will understand the value of a summer camp experience
  • Pray that promotional efforts will connect with the right people at the right times
  • Pray that we will have strong attendance in 2009 and that many lives will be touched and changed
Summer staff recruitment

Summer staff applications have been arriving in the mail since August, but this is the time to begin recruiting in earnest and making important staffing decisions.
  • Please pray that we will be able to once again enlist a committed and capable summer staff team
New Year's Eve Bash

About 75 people welcomed the New Year at Lakeside. This was our third annual New Year's Eve Bash but the first one that we organized without the assistance of an outside promoter. Four regional bands played sets in our chapel, and burgers, fries, pizza and other snacks were available in the dining hall, along with our own versions of Deal or No Deal and other game shows. We're grateful to Tim Couper for making arangements with the bands, and to John Williams for providing sound.
Retreat and conference calendar

We're grateful that our retreat calendar is filling in for the coming months. In the past few days we have scheduled several additional guest groups.
  • Please pray that we will have a full calendar through the winter and spring months
  • Pray that additional groups will consider Lakeside when choosing a retreat location
  • Pray that the hospitality we provide will reflect Christ and will result in changed lives
